Online Marketing | Tips for Online Marketing for Business

Posted on 21st 2月 2012 in Social Media And Business

Online marketing – blackboxsocialmedia.com Online marketing has a lot of advantages over the traditional advertising methods used by businesses. Although traditional marketing and online marketing both have their place, we are increasingly seeing businesses expand their advertising budgets to include pay per click, social media, and search engine optimization. The Online Marketing Advantage The biggest advantage by far though is that just about everything can be tracked and measured. When a consumer sees a billboard, television or radio commercial, or even a newspaper advertisement that leads to a sale, very rarely do the business owners ever know which advertising method brought the customer in. With online marketing a business owner knows exactly how many people are looking at a page, clicking through a site, and where they have come from. The second biggest advantage for online advertising is that it can be immediate. Within minutes you can set up Google Adwords account or Facebook Pay per click account and start driving people to your site. If your site is equipped to handle sales then you can even be making money immediately after creating your ad. Online Marketing — Best Bang For Your Buck Many advertisers are choosing online marketing because of its relatively low cost. Shooting, producing, and airing a commercial can cost 10′s of thousands of dollars, on the low end, and consumers are increasingly becoming immune to these types of ads. While online marketing can

How can I use Social Media for business? Courtesy of TiYo

Posted on 14th 6月 2011 in Social Media And Business

Reward loyal customers…Through social media, companies can not only run promotions more frequently and easily but it can also help devise more creative and engaging campaigns. You can ask your followers what rewards or incentives they would like to see.

Research what people are saying about you.. A quick Google search for remarks on your company can harvest a massive insight of ‘real’ information concerning your perceived reputation. If there is a particular area in your business that is not performing well and this is noted in remarks’ it can give you an opportunity to put it right.

Interact with dis-satisfied customers in a timely fashion and address the issues constructively. Although you may not want to see negative comments or complaints, you can use it to your advantage and turn it around by successfully dealing with the problem publically. Other followers and customers will see this and perhaps place your higher in their estimations. The reason for addressing complaints as soon as they are brought to your attention should minimalize the possibility of negative ‘word of mouth’ comments to others. Remember Social Media is around 24/7, it does not shut down outside of normal working hours.

Do not be overly defensive… Harsh criticism of your business on some sites can not only hurt your self-esteem but also hurt your livelihood. But do not lash out in public and always stay professional.

Keep customers in the loop with updates and company news and events. TiVo can help your customers keep track of your latest company status. Be open and talk about things that may be of interest to your followers.

Use the Internet to search for prospective customers… A quick keyword search can help you find potential customers who may not be aware of your company, but could benefit from your product or service. By typing in a sentence to Google strongly linked to your services can retrieve possible customers who may have previously asked an associated question on the Internet.

See where your customers are. A growing number of social networks are designed specifically for users on the go, and some, such as the mobile application Foursquare, offer tools specifically for businesses. Companies can use Foursquare to gather data on how many people visit their locations or chains and target them as ‘hot’ customers to send additional promotional offers to these frequent customers.

Allow customers help each other… Incorporating a customer forum or social network profile can help enhance your customer service while building a sense of community. If your business is for example involved in supplying building contractors this ‘pool’ of clients can use your website as a platform for discussing their work and favourite products whilst helping to generate business at the same time.

Social Media For Business

Posted on 1st 3月 2011 in Social Media And Business

Social media for business, especially small business with limited resources seems to be the obvious choice when marketing their respective business online. Fortunately, there’s a new book to help small businesses figure out how to make the most of social media.

Social Persuasion by Robbin Block talks about a traditional marketing approach, the book includes exercises and cost-effective tools that can be put into practice immediately. It also includes an extensive glossary of marketing and social media terms.

When author Robbin Block is asked, ‘Should I be on Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter?’ her qualified response is often, ‘None of the above’.

In an excerpt from the book, Robbin says, “targeted, niche sites are better for attracting people in the mood to make a purchase, because they’re looking for product-specific information. …Niche sites may not be as well known or attract the same numbers, but they’ll reach your audience in ways that a mainstream site can’t… . It’s a matter of quality over quantity.”

Small businesses and entrepreneurs should use social media as a way to enhance the presence of their business, create leads and build relationships. What many of them are finding out is that social media takes a significant amount of time to get results. Time is something few of us have a lot of. So targeted niche sites should have a sense of priority in our online marketing efforts.

So the question remains, how do I find a targeted niche? Well look to yourself or your company. What is it that you like about your company? What are you good at? What do you enjoy? On what subject or area are you the foremost authority? What are your strengths, and how can you leverage those strengths? What do you have to offer that is fairly unique?

Once you jot down all the answers to those few questions, you will see a few different niches jump out of the page at you. Gather the information to help you find a detailed profile of your target customer. There are a few things you can do after you have acquired your niche.

* Create and fine tune your brand, your name and image.
* Work on building a website/blog and filling it with information and content detailing your unique expertise and specialized services. Build credibility and explain how and why your the leading authority in this field.
* Create an online press release, sites like PRNewswire and Marketwire.com are good options to use, but I find that PRWeb Direct offers the best rates.
* Look into online services that promote your business, such as OrangeSoda, and Service Magic. Local Connex is a site that can connect you with online customers in your local area.

Even though target niche sites are better to attract people to make a purchase, social media sites must also be considered with any small business campaign as relationship building and connecting with friends, groups and people of influence in your niche market. You will definitely get leads and sales from facebook, linkedin, twitter, and meetup but you must offer value through those social media sites and those connections will buy from you in due time, this is a long haul approach but critical for the desired success you wish to obtain from online marketing.
