Transcript: Hi, this is Bruce Wilson from Audienz Marketing here to bring you 5 social media insights from last month’s Seattle Interactive Conference. Insight #1: Seek to increase social media engagement with actual customers. Don’t squander all of your coin trying to get attention from the people who don’t care about your brand. Reach out to your loyal customers and try to turn them into your marketing agents. #2: Engage with your brand’s social media advocates. Use social media monitoring to find the people who are already advocating for your brand in their own voices and let them know you appreciate them. The most influential 1% of your audience may be driving 10 to 70% of the traffic generated by social media sharing. #3: Plan in advance so that you can be spontaneous in social media conversations. Pre-select themes and timing that work best for your brand in social media. And choose people to be your social media spokesmodels who are fluent in communicating your brand message. #4: Content is the carrier, the click is the action. Don’t forget, it’s not just about getting people to see what you’re trying to show them, it’s about getting them to take action, then measuring impact.
